It’s that time of the year when temperatures drop and we all start thinking of sunny skies, palm trees, sandy beaches and Pina Coladas. Even thinking about a holiday makes me happier.

As much as we would like to visit Europe, unfortunately, we can’t take a month off work and I won’t travel that far for 10 days so the next best thing for us is the South Pacific. We really have fallen in love with Island life, we are ticking off one island at a time.

beach, Vanuatu, Island, South Pacific

Water this crystal clear is not too far from Australia’s doorstep.

So far, we have travelled to Fiji, Cook Islands, Isle of Pines, Samoa and our favourite Vanuatu. Did you know that Vanuatu is only a 3 ½ hour flight from Sydney and on the same time zone? It is, and we often travel there for long weekends; leave on a Thursday and back on a Monday. Vanuatu stole a bit of our hearts, we just love it. We would like to explore more of the islands especially after visiting the Island Aore in January, it was so magical, not a single shop, not even a supermarket and everything is solar powered, they have rainwater tanks, the population is only 400 people and we ate some of the most amazing meals we have ever eaten, so fresh.

Locals, Vanuatu, tribe

Hanging out with the locals in Vanuatu.

Next on our list is Tonga, fingers crossed we can visit within in the next couple of months. Did I mention we just love the Island Life!  Although we only go away for a week, living on island time feels like a lot longer and it’s a great chance to defrost and recharge the batteries.

Because of our busy work schedules, we tend to book travel at the last minute. If seeing all the amazing holiday pics on Instagram has you wanting to book a last-minute trip, don’t be worried about breaking the bank because you can get Cashback on all of your holiday bookings thanks to CASHREWARDS.

Expedia is my go-to holiday booking site. Sometimes it’s cheaper to book flights and accommodation together depending on your destination. When booking on Expedia via CASHREWARDS, I also get up to 5% Cashback as well as Expedia points which I can use towards my next trip. Because we travel to the South Pacific a lot we fly with Virgin Australia, they have direct flights to most of the destinations we love, and we get Cashback on our airfares.
